Announcement: Kenneth Oppel is coming to Phillips Free Library this THURSDAY!

Kenneth Oppel (author of a number of GREAT works, like the Airborn series, will be at the Phillips Free Library this Thursday, March 31!

He is running a writing workshop at 4 pm and will be giving an evening talk at 6:30.

English 10R:
  • In class on Monday: Mrs. Mann is coming in to go over databases and how to effectively use search engines
  • Due to the district Internet outage last Thursday, Research Proposals are now due Monday at 3:00
  • In class on Tuesday: Continue research  Five+ sources due in class on Thursday
  • In class on Thursday: Begin annotating and taking notes on your sources; conduct further research if necessary
  • In class on Friday: Continue organizing your information using the Research Paper Outline (Be sure to keep track of which source your information comes from so you can properly cite it in your paper!)

English 10H:

  • In class on Tuesday and Wednesday: Complete Pre-Searches for your TWO best Inquiry Questions, due Thursday in class. You are NOT required to submit these using the DD, but please be sure that your Pre-Search document is in your shared research folder on Google Drive so I can see it.
  • In class on Thursday (due Thursday at 3:00): Submit your official Research Proposal using this form.

    • Student discussion facilitators must also fill out their HeLa Jigsaw page (in your class' EDIT folder) to help you prepare to facilitate a discussion of your chapter(s). Jigsaw pages are due BEFORE you facilitate your discussion and will NOT be accepted late for credit.
  • In class on Tuesday (due by class on Thursday): "Clean up" (revise and edit) your Jigsaw page(s) based on my comments
  • In class on Thursday (due Thursday at 3:00): Exploring a Topic document --> Submit using the DD.
