TIME's "100 Best YA Books of All Time"

TIME recently released their controversial list of the 100 Best YA Books of All Time. What do you think? Did your favorites make the cut?

UPDATED: Midterms

The Midterm Exam Schedule has been finalized. Below, find information regarding students' Midterms this year.

Literacy in English 9:
  • When: Wednesday, January 28, from 9:30 - 10:45
  • Where: Students should make arrangements with their Resource teachers regarding location in order to address testing modifications (location, reading, extra time, typing, etc.).
  • Format of test: Read two short related passages; answer five multiple-choice questions based on the passages; write at least two well-developed paragraphs to address a prompt based on the two passages.


English 10R/10H:
  • When: Wednesday, January 28, from 11:00 - 12:30
  • Where: The gym (Resource students should make arrangements with their Resource teachers regarding location in order to address testing modifications.)
  • Format of test: Read one short passage; answer ten multiple-choice questions based on the passage; write one well-developed paragraph to address a prompt based on the passage.

  • Research Ahmad Shamlu and the context in which he lived using at least one reputable source. Choose at least two facts about Shamlu, and explain how these facts might contribute to his perspective as a writer. Turn in your research and citation(s) using this Google Form by midnight on Thursday.
  • Take the Quarter 2 Check-In Survey by Friday at midnight

English 10H:
  • "Letter from Birmingham Jail" paragraph 9 questions due in class on Tuesday
